Montgomeryshire MS, Russell George, is calling for people to submit nominees for the 2024 national awards for Wales.
The St David Awards are the national awards for Wales and reflect and celebrate the aspirations of Wales and its citizens as a modern, vibrant country that values innovation, community spirit and its people.
The awards also offer an opportunity to showcase the very best of people in communities across Wales and those who are doing exceptional things in Wales.
There are nine publicly nominated categories, giving the opportunity to recognise and celebrate people from all walks of life in Wales.
Panels of judges will choose finalists for the main categories and the finalists will be invited to an award ceremony in March. At the ceremony, the winners will be announced.
The winner in each category will receive a specially commissioned trophy.
The awards process wants to see local people nominated, who are inspirational people and groups of whom are doing work that helps or benefits the community.
The nine categories include Bravery, Citizenship, Culture, Enterprise, Innovation and Technology, International, Sport, Young Persons.
Mr George is encouraging residents to submit a nomination via Nominate | GOV.WALES and contact him to see if he can support applications.
Commenting, Mr George said:
‘The St David Awards is a fantastic opportunity to highlight some of the most inspirational people or the fantastic groups and businesses we have here in Montgomeryshire.
St David Award winners really are everyday heroes – they’re the people in our community who really make a difference and I believe we have plenty of people and groups deserving of an award in this constituency.
I encourage anyone to send an application, highlighting a story, person, group, or business that adds a significant contribution to Montgomeryshire and its people. I am also calling for people to let me know if they have applied so that I can see how I can support the very best of our fantastic community.’
