Responding to news that Dee Valley Water and Severn Trent have merged to become a single company, Russell George, Assembly Member for Montgomeryshire, said:
“Montgomeryshire is the only area of Wales served by Severn Trent and if this merger brings about a better deal for Montgomeryshire residents, it is to be welcomed.
“I will continue to call for the newly merged company to honour their commitments towards their customers, keep bills as low as possible and take a leading in role in flood management.
“I look forward to seeing whether Montgomeryshire will benefit from both Severn Trent and Dee Valley Water joining forces.”
Severn Trent and Dee Valley Water has committed to honouring in full the promises both companies have made to customers on their respective price controls.
They have also committed to:
extending support for vulnerable customers by providing a range of discounts for those that need help paying their bills;
launching 24/7 customer support through a range of channels, including web chat, social media, telephone and email;
sharing half of any wholesale cost savings with customers, which will be reflected in future bills helping to keep them low.
