Last weekend (8th August) Russell George AM joined local residents at a family fun day, BBQ and table top sale to support “Sarn Acorns”, a newly formed group which has been set up to raise funds for a play area and a community garden on the Springfields estate.
Following the fun day, Russell George said:
“I was delighted to be able to support the Sarn family fun day and the fundraising efforts of “Sarn Acorns” for a new play area and community garden in the village.
“It was a highly enjoyable day and the event has given the group’s fundraising a real kick start.
“I even had a go in the village stocks which proved too tempting an opportunity for Cllr. Kath Roberts-Jones who launched a wet sponge at me – all for a good cause.
“At present, Sarn doesn’t have a play area at all and I understand the group are working closely with Mid Wales Housing to make progress on the project.
“I wish the residents of Sarn well as they look to improve their local community and I will provide support in any way I can.”
