Road repair work at Talerddig, following a road collapse in November 2023 is set to be completed by the end of the year
The road collapse happened on the A470 between Carno and Dolfach in November 2023, leaving behind a large hole along the edge of the road.
Work was carried out to enable the road to be reopened under traffic management, but Montgomeryshire Senedd member Russell George MS has been raising the issue with the Welsh Government, urging for permanent repairs works to take place.
In a response to the Senedd Member, the Cabinet Secretary for the Economy and Transport, Ken Skates MS, conformed that the detailed design for the permanent repair to the wall had been finalised, and that work was currently programmed to commence in October for completion this calendar year.
George has also taken up other road safety issues at Talerddig following accidents near the junction to the Bont Dolgadfan road and by Tyrpeg.
Commenting, Mr George said:
“I have had update on the for repair works to be carried out on the Trunk Road at Talerddig following the road collapse in November last year, the Cabinet Secretary has confirmed to me that the detailed design for the permanent repair to the wall has been finalised. Work is currently programmed to commence in October for completion this calendar year.’’
“I have also taken up further road safety issues at Talerddig following accidents near the junction to the Bont Dolgadfan road and by Tyrpeg. There is a need for road safety improvements to address the dangers of the layout of this section of the road.”
