Children from across Montgomeryshire have been invited to take part in a Christmas Card competition run by local AM, Russell George.
Mr George is inviting all children in the county (aged 5 – 11) to have a go at designing the official picture for his 2017 Christmas card which depicts a Christmas scene.
The winning picture will feature on the front of the cards sent out by the Montgomeryshire Assembly Member later this year.
This is the sixth year of the popular competition which attracts in excess of 200 entries from local children eager to show off their artistic skills and creativity.
Prizes are given to the winner and runner up and every child taking part in the competition receives a certificate.
Commenting, Mr George said:
“I hope that this year’s Christmas Card competition will inspire Montgomeryshire’s young artists to put pen, pencil and paint brush to paper to show off their artistic talents.
“Every year, I am pleasantly surprised by the number of entries I receive and I have to say the standard is always very high indeed.
“This year, the competition has been extended and is open to primary school children in Montgomeryshire, aged between 5 and 11 years old.
“I am very much looking forward to receiving and judging this year’s entries after the closing date on Friday 27 October 2017 and I hope that this year is the best yet!.”
