A local AM has secured a commitment from the Welsh Government Minister for Economy and Transport, Edwina Hart AM, to meet with Carno Station Action Group.
Carno Station Action Group has recently presented a refined business case which aims to see the re-opening of Carno Station in 2015.
Under questioning in the National Assembly from Russell George AM, Mrs Hart agreed to meet with representatives of the group on site when she next visits the area.
Russell George, AM for Montgomeryshire, said:
“I’m delighted that the Minister has agreed to meet with me and the Carno Station Action Group to discuss the strong business case which has been put forward for the re-opening of Carno Station as part of the 2015 National Transport Plan.
“I look forward to discussing the matter further with the Minister to ensure that this proposal becomes a reality in the very near future.”
