The Farmers’ Union of Wales Celebrates 70 Years with Breakfast Week in Montgomeryshire
The Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) have invited people across Montgomeryshire to join them for their annual Farmhouse Breakfast Week, also marking 70 years since the union’s formation in 1955. The events have brought the communities together over hearty breakfasts, while raising money for local causes.
Russell George MS praised the initiative, saying that events like this bring about informal discussions between farming unions, local farmers and politicians, which are crucial.
This year the FUW’s Farmhouse Breakfast Week will see 24 events held across Wales, with Montgomeryshire at the heart of the celebrations. From farmhouses and village halls, to local cafes and livestock markets, the breakfasts offer an opportunity for residents to enjoy premium local produce.
FUW Montgomeryshire hosted three breakfasts; at Dyffryn Restaurant in Foel, Wynnstay Inn in Llansilin, and at Graig Farm Organics, Tynyfron, Mochdre.
The breakfasts highlighted the vital role Montgomeryshire’s farmers play in producing sustainable, high-quality food and supporting the rural economy.
