A local AM has spoken of his utter disgust at the mindless thugs who have wreaked devastating damage at the Dyfi Ospreys Project.
The criminals smashed windows and equipment relating to the live streaming of the Ospreys.
Russell George, Assembly Member for Montgomeryshire and a Member of the Montgomeryshire Wildlife Trust, said:
“I just cannot believe how someone could cause thousands of pounds worth of damage at a wildlife centre which does such fantastic work.
“The Dyfi Ospreys Project is an internationally renowned project which supports educational projects, Montgomeryshire’s vital tourism industry and the local economy.
“The dedication of the staff is admirable and this news must be absolutely heart breaking for everyone involved.
“However I hope that these criminals do not dent the spirit of the project team.
“The equipment appears to have been indiscriminately destroyed for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than to steal a few coins from the float.
“I sincerely hope that the police catch the perpetrators and I will do all I can to support the centre to get back on track as soon as possible.
"In the meantime, my thoughts go out to all involved."
