Ysgol Calon y Dderwen pupil wins Christmas card design competition which was held by Russell George MS
Montgomeryshire MS, Russell George held a Christmas card competition to design his official Christmas card. The Member of the Senedd for Montgomeryshire received many entries from local children who were excited to showcase their artistic talents.
Mr George who judged the entries, said it was a very difficult selection process, but an overall winner emerged. The competition was won by Evan Morgan, aged 10 and a pupil at Ysgol Calon y Dderwen.
The standard of entry was extremely high, said Mr George, who attended a school Assembly at Ysgol Calon y Dderwen to thank Evan and present him with an award and gift.
Commenting after meeting with the winner Evan Morgan, Mr George said:
“I would like to thank Evan for designing my Christmas Card this year, and to all those children who participated.''
“This is the 14th year that I have run my Christmas card competition, and the standard of entries was again very high indeed, and it was very difficult to pick just one winner.''
"The winning picture has now been printed on the front of my cards and has been sent to organisations and individuals across the county.''
''I'd like to say thanks to all the young people who took part, and I wish everyone a happy Christmas.''
