Age Cymru Powys have been awarded with an Age UK certificate of achievement, recently presented by local AM, Russell George.
This week (Monday 23rd October), Mr George, Assembly Member for Montgomeryshire, was delighted to present the certificate of achievement to the Age Cymru Powys information and advice team for the quality of the information and advice it provides after a rigorous assessment process.
Following a successful inspection which looked at the management of the service; the way in which cases are managed; and the way information is provided and recorded, Age Cymru Powys met all the requirements of the Quality Mark.
After presenting the award to the team, Mr George said:
“I was delighted to be asked to present this award to the Age Cymru Powys Information and Advice Team and I would like to congratulate all members of the team for their achievement.
“I know that the team, which comprises a small team including volunteers, work extremely hard on a range of issues affecting older people locally and are seen by many as the go to people for older people’s issues in Powys.
“I’m therefore thrilled that the high quality of their advice has been rightly recognised through this national certificate of achievement.”
This is the second time Age Cymru Powys has undergone a quality mark, gaining its first one in December in 2015 for the Age UK Organisation Quality Standards.
Gail Hamer, Chief Officer added:
“We are very proud of our Information and Advice service and the team worked very hard to achieve this Quality Mark.
“We know that growing older doesn't come with a manual so that's why we provide free information and advice to help you on topics as diverse as claiming benefits to care homes.”
